City shines in Manchester derby
A huge win for City as they maintain their 100% record. Their performance in the first half has seen them edge out their great rivals as goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Kelechi Iheanacho secure the win, despite Zlatan Ibrahimovic's strike before the break. Mourinho's men upped the ante late in the contest, but the visitors held out for the victory.

Epl fixtures for this weekend
This week's EPL brings you great and mind blowing matches. Today, Saturday, comes the high anticipated the Manchester Derby, next is match of the saints against the Emirate' gunners, also, Liverpool will on against the present champions, Leicester City, and lots more.
The Manchester derby showdown!
Pep Guardiola appeared horizontal on Friday about the prospect of handing Claudio Bravo his debut in the cauldron of Old Trafford in what is anticipated to be the most watched game in British top-flight history on the back of just two training sessions. “He is fit, he is ready,” the Manchester City manager said of the Chile goalkeeper, newly signed from Barcelona as Joe Hart’s replacement. “This kind of player – 33 years old – he has the experience.” But not necessarily experience of what is likely to be in store on Saturday lunchtime, and David de Gea, Manchester United’s keeper, will probably be the first to be encouraging his team-mates to pump balls into the penalty area as Jose Mourinho seeks to exploit his side’s huge height advantage over City.
De Gea found the aerial demands of English football taxing to begin with and will doubtless hope his fellow Spanish speaker encounters the same problems. At 6ft, Bravo is not the tallest goalkeeper and the prospect of the 6ft 5in Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 6ft 4in Marouane Fellaini and 6ft 3in Paul Pogba towering in the air would be daunting for any newcomer, regardless of their age. Guardiola looked up, almost ominously, when – unprompted - he raised the subject of United’s physical supremacy, an admission that ran counter to his relaxed approach about Bravo. “The set-pieces with these tall guys …,” he said. “They are taller than us, it’s impossible to control that”.

Guardiola/Mourinho rivalry continues at the highly anticipated Manchester derby
Guardiola’s Manchester City will face Mourinho’s United in a highly anticipated Manchester derby at Old Trafford today in the afternoon, the latest installment of a managerial rivalry that usually steals the headlines.
The two men worked alongside each other at Barcelona during the 1990s but their coaching careers took different paths and, since Guardiola was chosen ahead of Mourinho for the Barcleona job in 2008, their respective teams have been involved in a number of memorable clashes.
Their time together in Spain, with Guardiola at Barca and Mourinho at Real Madrid, produced drama both on and off the pitch in every meeting between the two clubs, not least during an intense run of four Clasicos in just 18 days.
The two men have only met once since they left Spain - when Guardiola’s Bayern beat Mourinho’s Chelsea on penalties in the 2013 UEFA Super Cup - but their paths have now converged in Manchester and their rivalry provides an intriguing subplot ahead of the first derby of the season.

93 Days to Premiere at The Rock Cathedral Lagos
The House on the Rock Church, Natives FilmWorks, Michelangelo Productions and the Bolanle Austen-Peters Production are collaborating to host the Nigerian Premiere of the Nigerian produced film – 93 Days on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Rock Cathedral, 4th Roundabout, Lekki –Epe Expressway, Lagos.
Starring Bimbo Akintola, Danny Glover, Tim Reid, Somkele Idhalama, Keppy Ekpenyong, Gideon Okeke and other hugely talented actors, 93 Days is a compelling story of dedication, sacrifice which celebrates the courage shown by the first consultant medical team, the Lagos State, Federal Government and all well-meaning organizations in combating the Ebola virus, which broke out early in Nigeria.
The movie tells the story of how a few sacrificed their lives at the front line of the horrendous battle against the Ebola virus, some of who lost their lives, but not without saving several lives. Noteworthy is the Late Dr. Stella Adadevoh whose role is played by renowned Nigerian actress, Bimbo Akintola.
Working with the youngest colleagues, her early detection of the disease in a patient and insistence on treating him contributed greatly to limiting the spread of the disease in our nation. This powerful movie has the central themes of triumph, heroism and a country’s determination to rise above the storm.
One of the producers of the movie, Bolanle Austen –peters in her statement said, “93 Days is a masterfully crafted story of bravery and sacrifice and is definitely a must see. It showcases the best of Nigeria; it is a powerful, gripping and an emotive piece. I am more than proud to have played a part in this project.”
Speaking on The House on the Rock Partnership with these notable bodies, the senior pastor of all House on the Rock Churches, Pastor Paul Adefarasin said, “House on the Rock’s mission is to work together with everyone that is invested in building a transformed nation, a better Nigeria, and this essence ties strongly into the courage displayed by Dr.Stella Adadeyoh and her colleagues who brought hope to a nation that was being threatened by devastation, at the expense of their own lives. This is the kind of love and sacrifice that can truly bring transformation to all.
The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), widely recognized for showing the most outstanding films from around the world, has selected 93 Days for screening at the Isabel Bader Theater in Toronto, Canada this week.
Showing in cinemas nationwide from 16thSeptember 2016, 93 Days is definitely a movie to see and will be remembered.

FIFA bans Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid
The two clubs will suffer the same fate as Barcelona in 2014 after breaches of rules around the protection of minors, meaning they will not be allowed to sign players until 2018
Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will be unable to register new players for the next two transfer windows after their appeals against bans imposed by FIFA were rejected.
The two clubs had been charged with breaching FIFA regulations relating to the protection and transfer of minors.
After initially being handed the punishment in January, the bans were temporarily delayed pending appeal but they will now suffer the same fate as Barcelona, who were found guilty of similar offences in 2014.
"The FIFA Appeal Committee has decided to reject the appeals lodged by Spanish clubs Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid and to confirm in their entirety the decisions rendered by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee in the respective cases relating to the protection of minors," a FIFA statement reads.
"Both clubs are to serve a transfer ban that prevents them from registering any players at national and international level for the next two complete and consecutive registration periods for breaching articles 5, 9, 19 and 19bis as well as annexes 2 and 3 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players (the “Regulations”).
"The transfer ban applies to each club as a whole – with the exception of the women’s, futsal and beach soccer teams – and does not prevent the release of players.
"Additionally, Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid have been fined CHF 900,000 and CHF 360,000 respectively, while both clubs have been issued with a reprimand and a warning and given 90 days in which to regularise the situation of all minor players concerned.
"The grounds of the decisions taken by the FIFA Appeal Committee were communicated to the parties concerned today."
In a statement released immediately after FIFA had announced its decision, Real Madrid described the verdict as "profoundly unfair" and confirmed their intention to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Youths on twitter mobilise #NoSidonLook
Youths on Twitter mobilized a trend #Nosidolook as a way to cripple the care-free mentality of Nigerians. We don't have to wait for the government to provide our 3 square meal, instead the inborn creative mind can provide that with ease.
So today I tell you, #NoSidonlook and suffer putting all blames on government, #NoSidonlook enhancing the act of bribery and corruption, #NoSidonlook and kill the talent within you instead try to make it real, #NoSidonlook and keep on damaging properties because you don't own it, #NoSidonlook as a civil servant waiting to get salary that has already been spent by the ever able hands of debt. It can keep going on and on but the truth still stands and as Nigerians #NoSidonlook!
Cheers!

ScholarX makes it easy for Nigerian students to find scholarships
Nigerians are world-renowned for placing utmost value on education. However, there are many factors that hinder access to education within the country. Expensive tuition fees, poor teaching ethics and low admission quota have remained some of the impediments to quality education in Nigeria.
In February 2016, Maxwell Ogunfuyi, Abayomi Johnson and Bola Lawal founded ScholarX to present opportunities to millions of Nigerians.
So what is ScholarX?
ScholarX is a scholarship finder for Nigerians studying anywhere in the world. The service “helps all Nigerian students home and abroad have access to all available scholarships.”
Bola draws an analogy with arithmetic, where students are required to find the missing value of X in an equation. He enthused that, “the X in ScholarX means the missing value for Nigerian students.”
By providing students with all-round information for finding and securing the right scholarship, the founders believe they are giving students the much-needed value in education.
According to Bola, there are many scholarship programs and funds periodically provided by state governments for indigenes who are studying both in Nigeria and abroad. However, relatively few know about them. With global unclaimed scholarship funds estimated to be worth billions of naira, coupled with low application rate, “there is a huge information gap” he concludes.
This is why they built ScholarX to not only draw the spotlight on these scholarships but also making it easy for students to access them.
Credibility of the platform
The search for specific scholarships programs on the internet at times can be a futile effort. This can present a case for uncertainty in ScholarX’s offering. Bola describes the experience as being manually painful. Adding that it’s the most manual thing any tech person would ever wish to do.
For the integrity of the scholarships and to ensure they are well ranked on search, ScholarX has gone through the pain of finding these scholarships, entering them manually, vetting them and populating them into the database.
Some companies exist which offer students discount. As the ScholarX Strategy Lead, Bola’s duties include meeting with these companies to discuss the possibilities of moving them from potential partners to full support partners of the ScholarX brand.
Challenges
The initial concept for ScholarX, which was developed by Maxwell Ogunfuyi, focused on Nigerian-based scholarships. However, the inclusion of Bola Lawal and Abayomi Johnson paved way for the service to extend outside the shores of the country. This is not without its own challenges by the way.
Verifying the credibility of users who claim they are going abroad solely for studies is one of such challenges. While Bola admits that they do not have any control over user’s intention, he’s quick to point out that “some of the scholarships have extremely rigorous applications processes that will deter anyone who is not serious.”
So far, adoption of the ScholarX platform has been slower than expected. This is despite the reasonably-priced ₦500 annual subscription fee. The founders believe that this is due to the technology gap in Nigeria.
“Most people aren’t very tech savvy, so user conversion takes a little more guidance and persuasion,” Bola remarks. While this is true to a large extent, I do believe that the sceptical nature of most Nigerians is also a contributing factor as well.
The ScholarX innovation is a fresh one. So, the struggle to break through the market is not coming as a surprise.
However, once the model finally sinks in the mind of people, they hope to have a working template that could be replicated in other African countries as well.
However, once the model finally sinks in the mind of people, they hope to have a working template that could be replicated in other African countries as well.
On the brighter side of things, ScholarX recently applied for this year’s Startup School by Y Combinator and got accepted. That is a much needed validation that they are on the right path.

Chloe’s Cupcake Heaven gets Sudden Demolition Notice in Abuja After 5 Years in Business (Video)
Last week, a part of the shopping complex that housed Nuli Juice and Nuts About Cakes in Ikoyi, Lagos was broken down.
The tenants said it was done without prior warning, while the government claimed their landlord was warned about the illegal structures, and it was a story that trended throughout the week.
Today, Abuja baker Chloe’s Cupcake Heaven is complaining of a similar act about to take place tomorrow.
Here’s what she posted this evening –
So in the wake of the demolition of @nulijuice and other small business trying to make a difference in our economy, we got this marked on our wall today with a lot of officials and soldiers in tow. This marking says 24 hours notice. 24 hours notice?????We’ve been in this building doing business for 5 years and you give us 24 hours notice at almost the close of business for demolition. I don’t get it Nigeria! how much more are entrepreneurs supposed to take in this country? Our country is in a recession and this is what the Govt deems necessary at this point in time. A lot of other buildings were marked but how do you mark a building at the close of business for demolition the next day and don’t even give the affected parties a listening ear???What is the justification for this sort of animalistic behaviour in this country? #smallbusinessesmatter
